Eddie and the Hot Rods are a British pub rock band from Canvey Island, Essex, formed in 1975. They are considered one of the pioneering bands in the pub rock and punk rock movements in the UK. Over their career, Eddie and the Hot Rods have released several studio albums, live recordings, and compilations. Known for their energetic performances and raw sound, they achieved notable UK chart success with their albums and singles, most famously “Do Anything You Wanna Do,” which reached number nine on the UK Singles Chart in 1977. The band’s lineup has undergone numerous changes, with Barrie Masters serving as the consistent lead vocalist until his death in 2019. The band’s style mixes punk energy with the rock and roll, R&B, and blues influences that characterized the pub rock scene.

Teenage Depression is Eddie and the Hot Rods’ debut album, capturing the raw energy that defined the early days of the punk movement in the UK. Life on the Line
Released 1977
Life on the Line marked a significant evolution in the band’s sound, incorporating more complex structures and slightly moving away from their punk roots.
